What you will need to update your RC-3
  • RC-3
  • USB cable (It must be compatible with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed.)
  • A computer with a USB 2.0 connector ( Windows 8.1 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP, MacOS X )
  • AC Adaptor ( PSA Series )

Caution when performing the update
  • We recommend that you back your user data up to your computer before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your user data is lost, you will be able to restore the data by reloading the data you saved. For details on the procedure, refer to the step four of the "Connecting to Your Computer via USB" section in the owner's manual.
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the RC-3. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Be sure to power the unit using the AC adaptor. Executing the update while running on only battery power may cause the update to fail and result in incorrect operation if the batteries go dead before the update finishes.
  • Never power-off your RC-3 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the RC-3 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
